Right here, in normal-size print. Tracking time, running timesheets, and sending invoices cost nothing. We only charge when your client pays an invoice online through Travail: $3 + 0.25%. That covers what Stripe charges us to pay you out, and a little to keep the servers running.
The best part? You never have to turn online payments on. Put "pay by check" or "Zelle me" on your invoice, mark it paid when the money shows up, and Travail never costs you a thing.

Is it free?
Yes. Tracking time and sending invoices are free. When a client pays an invoice online, there's a fee of $3 + 0.25%. That covers what Stripe charges us to pay you out, and a little to keep the servers running. The fee comes out of the payment, so your client never pays extra. If your client pays some other way, like a check or Zelle, nothing gets charged.
Can I skip the fee?
Yes. Invoices are fully customizable, so add your own payment instructions (check, Zelle, direct bank transfer) and mark the invoice paid when the money arrives. No online payment, no fee.
Where does my money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account. Travail never holds it.
What if I need to refund a client?
You can refund a paid invoice, in full or in part, from the invoice page. The refund goes back to your client through Stripe.
Is there a Mac app?
Windows today. Mac is planned. The web app works anywhere.
Can I self-host?
Not yet, but it's on our list.
Is my data private?
Your clients and hours are only visible to your account. See our privacy policy.
